After much speculation, renowned dangdut singer Mas Idayu has finally come forward to clarify the status of her marriage with her ex-husband, Muhammad Sufian Che Isa.
In an exclusive interview with Melodi, Mas Idayu, whose real name is Mas Idayu Mesnun, 53, admitted that she was the one who requested to be released because she had strong reasons.
“If you ask why I sought a divorce, my answer is that I’m very justified in requesting a divorce,” she said firmly.
According to Mas, the divorce request was made before the fourth season of Famili Duo began, but she still carried out her responsibilities as a judge professionally.
“I went to court on March 4, and the talak was pronounced. Allah covered our shame.”
Addressing the reason for the separation, Mas emphasized that there was no issue of a third party, and they remain on friendly terms despite the divorce.
“My ex-husband and I didn’t fight at all; in fact, when we went to court, we could still laugh.
A third party wasn’t the reason for our separation. There was absolutely no issue of a third party.”
Mas also explained that, as a wife, she is aware of the sins and rewards in making such a significant decision.
“A wife who seeks a divorce without reason will not smell the fragrance of paradise. I don’t want to point fingers at who’s wrong.”
Previously, Sufian, who is also an executive producer at TV3, confirmed that they were officially divorced on March 4 and accepted the fate with an open heart.
The couple tied the knot in September 2022 after getting to know each other during the Mentor 3 program in 2008 and reconnecting in 2021.
For info, Mas Idayu was previously married to actor Aman Graseka in 1997 and has a daughter, Nur Dayini Asyiqa, 27 years old. – BOOM!
