The passing of legendary artist, Titiek Puspa on Thursday (April 10, 2025) due to a brain hemorrhage dealt a heavy blow to dangdut singer, Inul Daratista.
As the nation mourned, Inul also shared her deep sense of loss for someone she described as the savior of her career during the “Goyang Ngebor” controversy around 2003 to 2004.
Back then, when Inul was banned from appearing in various regions, Titiek Puspa stepped up as the first person to support her and open doors for her to continue her work in Jakarta. Thanks to that support, Inul managed to grow her career and buy a house in the upscale Pondok Indah area.
After the passing of this great figure, Inul admitted she sincerely accepts fate but doesn’t deny that the sense of loss runs very deep. Inul shared that her heart still hasn’t fully healed because the space once filled by Titiek Puspa is now empty.
“Truly sincere, but honestly, when I think of her, it’s hard to hold back tears. I haven’t moved on, I need to take it slow. There’s an empty space in my heart because the person who filled it is gone,” Inul expressed on Instagram.
Inul also visited Titiek Puspa’s grave at Tanah Kusir, South Jakarta on Friday (April 11), accompanied by her husband Adam Suseno and other celebrity friends.
Inul expressed her admiration for the artist who not only had a career spanning from President Soekarno’s era to the present but was also humble and incredibly wise in conversation.
To her, every meeting was a life lesson that words couldn’t capture. In fact, Inul believes Titiek Puspa’s advice will continue to guide her life. – BOOM!
