The Music Copyright Protection Body (MACP) has filed a lawsuit against event organizer Hitman Solutions Live Sdn. Bhd. at the Kuala Lumpur High Court, accusing the company of violating the Copyright Act for musical works during several past concerts.
Among the concerts under scrutiny in this case are Bunkface 15 Years of Korang, Raisa Live in Malaysia, Ne-Yo Live in Malaysia (2023), Blue Heart & Soul Tour 2023, and Konsert Jilid Akhir: Ella Puteri Kota.
According to MACP, Hitman Solutions is also accused of failing to apply for licenses for 13 other concerts over the past year, including performances by renowned artists such as Jubin Nautiyal, Rizky Febian, Sum 41, Incubus, Dolla, and Arijit Singh.

In its statement, MACP emphasized that this legal action is a crucial step to protect the rights of local and international composers, writers, and music publishers.
“This step is our commitment to champion justice and ensure that creators receive fair compensation for their works,” the statement read.
The case is expected to be heard in April next year. MACP continues to stress the importance of obtaining proper licensing before organizing any concerts to respect copyright and the efforts of creators.
Hitman Solutions has yet to release any statement regarding these allegations. – BOOM!
