The Harry Potter television series produced by HBO Max has been described as the biggest streaming event in the history of HBO Max and has the potential to create one of the largest phenomena in the global streaming landscape, according to the Head of Streaming at Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) in a statement in London today.

Chief Executive Officer and President of Global Streaming and Games at Warner Bros. Discovery, J.B. Perrette, told the media during the launch event of HBO Max in London that the series is not only important for the service, but for the streaming world as a whole.
“The producer (Harry Potter) David Heyman will tell you about the scale of the production, the level of detail, and the extraordinary meticulousness they are going through and building.
“It brings the cinematic experience to a completely different level.
“In a series format, you can explore more deeply and tell many elements that could not be captured in a two-hour film.
“Casey (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of HBO and HBO Max Content, Bloys) doesn’t like me saying this, but I truly believe this will be the biggest streaming event of this decade,” he was quoted as saying by Deadline.

HBO Max is scheduled to launch in the United Kingdom and Ireland on 26 March, completing the expansion of the streaming service across Europe.

Perrette said the Harry Potter series produced by Warner Bros. Television, HBO Entertainment, Brontë Film & TV, and Heyday Films is expected to premiere next year and will undoubtedly be among the most significant series launches globally in 2027.
“Our team has long been looking forward to the opportunity to bring this project to a market as large and important as the UK,” he said.

He added that it is set to become the biggest streaming event in the history of HBO Max and possibly in the history of streaming overall.
Dominic McLaughlin will portray Harry Potter, while Arabella Stanton will play Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout will take on the role of Ron Weasley. Veteran actors such as John Lithgow and Nick Frost will also appear in major roles. -BOOM!
