Datuk Seri Vida (DSV) explained that wearing a mermaid costume in the music video for Lagu Happy was purely symbolic and a creative approach to conveying the song’s message.
The well-known entrepreneur and singer said her main focus was the positive message delivered through the song, which serves as the original soundtrack (OST) for the film Duyung: Legenda Aurora.
Vida, who is involved only as the OST singer, shared that the visuals in the music video symbolise a life journey and inner strength.
“I don’t see myself as a mermaid. Even though I’m wearing a mermaid costume and everything is about mermaids, we present ourselves as a diva, and the song itself carries a message that tells the story of our life journey,” she told Boom!
According to her, Happy is filled with motivational messages, encouraging listeners not to dwell too deeply in sadness when facing challenges.
“We have to always stay positive, confident, and happy. Whatever happens, let it happen. But we shouldn’t just stay still. We must keep trying,” she explained.
She also expressed a message of hope, saying that every trial faced in life is temporary and will eventually pass.
Vida added that the song aims to inject positive energy by urging listeners not to remain trapped in their problems, but instead to resolve them calmly.
“Don’t feel gloomy, don’t keep sitting in your problems. Solve them. Stay calm,” she said, while encouraging listeners to rise up and choose happiness. –Boom!
