Dominating the ‘Outdoor Theatre’ stage in California, USA last Sunday, Jennie delivered 13 songs in an intimate performance concept. However, audiences claimed the performance fell far short of expectations.
“As a Blackpink and K-pop fan who followed all the Coachella performances, I was disappointed to see Jennie struggling with stamina and looking half-dead throughout the show,” expressed one netizen.
Fans also voiced their disappointment on social media, saying Jennie seemed unprepared both physically and vocally.
Despite Jennie’s captivating stage presence with a glamorous cowboy style and striking red leather outfit, the performance was seen as unbalanced with the visuals presented.
“If she doesn’t want to sing, at least she could dance like Lisa. But if she danced any harder, she might faint,” said one Reddit user.
The setlist she performed also became a target of criticism. Some fans felt Jennie is better suited in the BLACKPINK group, as the members’ strengths and weaknesses complement each other.
