Goo Hye‑sun Graduates Early With Master’s, Sets Sights On PhD

Talented South Korean actress Goo Hye‑sun is celebrating another major achievement after completing her Master’s degree ahead of schedule at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

Goo shared several graduation photos on Instagram, complete with her cap and gown while holding a freshly bound copy of her thesis.

Goo Hye‑sun expressed her happiness and pride in finishing her Master’s early, while being enthusiastic about continuing her studies at the PhD level.

“I’ve completed my Master’s thesis. My newly bound thesis just arrived. Next up, PhD? Victory!” she said on Instagram.

Daily Tribune reported that Goo Hye‑sun completed her undergraduate studies in Video Production at Sungkyunkwan University in 2020. After that, she pursued a Master’s in Science Journalism at KAIST. She re-enrolled in 2020 and graduated as an outstanding student in February 2024.

Besides focusing on academics, earlier this year Goo ventured into entrepreneurship by launching the hair roller brand Kurole, a creation in collaboration with a KAIST chemistry professor, showing that her talents extend not only to the arts but also to innovation and business. –Boom!
