The GenKRU concert, held on May 3 and 4 at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, made history as KRU became the first Malay music group to use HoloBox AI technology in a live performance.
Through this concert, the sibling trio Dato’ Norman Abdul Halim, Datuk Yusry Abdul Halim, and Edry Abdul Halim proved that they remain relevant even after 33 years in Malaysia’s music industry.
Celebrating their 33rd anniversary, the symbolic number was reflected through three nights of concerts, commemorating three decades of artistic journey by the three key figures of KRU.
Over 20 songs were performed, including Fanatik, Ohh! La La!, Jangan Lafazkan, Di Dalam Dilema, and Awas, igniting nostalgia among loyal fans.
A touching moment also arose when they sang Perpisahan Terasing by the late Datuk Sudirman Haji Arshad as a tribute to the legendary Malaysian artist.
One of the most attention-grabbing moments was the reappearance of the group Elite, who performed a duet with KRU for the song Di Pintu Syurga. Also livening up the special night was Adam AF2 with his performance of the popular song Terhangat Di Pasaran.
KRU also showcased their compositions for other artists, such as Separuh Masa (The Lima), Sedetik Lebih (Anuar Zain), and Hi Hi Bye Bye (Ezlynn), proving their contribution extends beyond being singers, but also as songwriters who have left a significant impact.
This concert, organized by Icon Entertainment, will continue on May 10, promising more surprises and historic moments for Malaysian music fans. – BOOM!
