On June 6, 2025, KRU Group celebrated its 33rd anniversary, marking over three decades of extraordinary success in Malaysia’s entertainment industry.
Starting as a sibling music group that introduced local pop and hip-hop beats, KRU has now transformed into a creative empire spanning music, film, technology, and an edutainment theme park.

KRU Group’s Evolution
Under KRU Group, KRU Studios has opened a new chapter in the local film industry.
Among their iconic works are Cicak-Man (2006), Malaysia’s first superhero film using nearly 40% CGI special effects, Magika (2010), a fantasy musical film that won multiple awards, and Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa (2011), an epic film that broke into the international market with screenings in over 70 countries.

GenKRU: A History-Making Concert
In May 2025, KRU rocked Axiata Arena with their four-night GenKRU concert, setting a record in the Malaysia Book of Records.
More than just nostalgia, this concert became a symbol that the KRU brand remains influential, relevant, and respected even after three decades.

Wetland Studios Putrajaya
Under the leadership of Dato’ Norman Abdul Halim, KRU Studios took a bold step by spearheading Wetland Studios Putrajaya in May 2023.
This unique indoor edutainment theme park combines KRU-produced animation and music content with messages of environmental conservation and wildlife protection.
In just two years of operation, over 350,000 visitors have enjoyed this one-of-a-kind experience.
Wetland Studios also clinched the ‘Best Theme Attraction’ award at the TripZilla Excellence Award 2023, outshining several big names in the local theme park industry.
