The Walid character in the drama Bidaah has truly boosted the name of senior actor Faizal Hussein, making him go viral and talked about not just in Malaysia, but even in neighboring Indonesia.
According to an Utusan Online report, Faizal, 57, expressed his gratitude after receiving various praise-filled messages from young Indonesian viewers.
Most of the messages he got were about his acting, and they seemed to genuinely appreciate the quality of his performance.
But what’s more surprising, Faizal also revealed that he received naughty messages from young female fans who want to be his ‘spiritual wife’.
Faizal initially thought those messages were just jokes, but over time, he realized that many were actually serious about their interest in him.
He said the individuals sending the messages didn’t just call him by his character’s name, but also used his real name.
Faizal admitted he was a bit shocked by this, but now he can only laugh when he gets messages like that.
He also jokingly said that he’s now old enough to be the grandfather of those fans, yet they still ‘bother’ him.
The Bidaah drama phenomenon also affected his family when netizens started tracking down the social media accounts of his children, Fazryn and Fazrick.
According to Faizal, his daughter didn’t mind it, but his son, who’s still in secondary school, seemed uneasy with the sudden attention. – BOOM!
