Actor Qi Razali shared an unexpected incident that occurred on a filming set when a cigarette box was suddenly thrown at his face.

He said the unpleasant experience shocked him, as such an action should have been communicated to him beforehand.
“It happened to me before, when an actor acted without discussing it first. At that time, there was a tense scene, and he suddenly took a cigarette box and threw it towards my face,” he said.

However, the former OAG band member said he tried to remain professional while working and continued with the shoot.
“As a professional actor, I couldn’t stop or break character at that moment.
“So after the director called ‘cut’, I immediately asked him why he did that.
“Such actions should only take place after prior discussion. Spontaneity should be based on emotion and the context of the scene, not actions carried out suddenly,” he said, as quoted by Mstar.

Qi added that what happened showed a lack of respect towards fellow artistes and made him feel as though the character he was portraying was not important.
“Even though he was the main actor and the scene did not affect our character, to me that approach is still not appropriate,” he said.

Therefore, he stressed that communication is very important to ensure filming can proceed smoothly. – BOOM!
