Actress Nora Danish, 42, admitted being touched by the praise she received after deciding to wear the hijab, but she declined to be considered overly pious to avoid being targeted by criticism.
According to Nora, whose full name is Nora Mohd. Danish Hanif, her transformation is still a learning process, and she is concerned about being perceived as too pure.
“I don’t want people to see me as holy or pious. That’s what I’m most afraid of because if I make a mistake, people will label me as a hypocrite,” she said in a post on a health product’s social media page.
The actress from the movie Polis Evo 3 also clarified that her decision to wear the hijab is part of her effort to improve herself.
“I am in the process of becoming a better person. I’m not perfect, but that’s what I’m striving for,” she explained.
She made the decision to wear the hijab after her divorce from Nedim Nazri in June last year. Since then, Nora has regularly attended religious lectures with other celebrity friends to expand her knowledge and improve herself.
Her new appearance has often been praised by netizens, who say she looks sweeter and more graceful with her hijab. – BOOM!
