Anugerah Juara Lagu 39 (AJL39) not only left sweet memories for the winners but also elevated Edry Abdul Halim as a ‘hero’ after ensuring that the competition’s results satisfied the fans.
As the head judge, Edry received widespread praise for making fair and rational decisions, along with clear explanations for each category. Netizens even called him a “superhero” for saving AJL39 from any controversy.

Alongside other judges such as Dato’ Hattan, Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar, Ad Samad, LY, Edrie Hashim, Siti Hajar, Datuk Fauziah Nawi, and Fauziah Latiff, they were described as the best judging panel. Many fans even hoped this lineup would be retained for the next edition.

After completing his role as head judge, Edry returned to Manchester to be with his family and is expected to return to Malaysia after Raya for the GenKRU concert preparations.
AJL39 crowned Hening Rindu by Marsha Milan as the champion, followed by Bukan Lagi Kita by Nadeera in second place and Saksama by Akim & The Majistret in third place. – BOOM!
