The Malaysian rock scene was shaken after two long-time members of Wings — Eddie (bassist) and Black (drummer) — announced their immediate departure from the band on October 8, 2025.

The shocking news came just weeks before the highly anticipated “Wings 40 Years Celebration” concerts, set to take place in Kuala Lumpur on November 28 and Singapore on December 24.

Although no official reason was given for their exit, the decision has sparked widespread speculation among loyal fans of the legendary group.

Eddie, who has been with Wings since 1985, is leaving the band for the first time in four decades, while Black, who previously exited around 1990 after the “Teori Domino” album and rejoined in 1995, is stepping away once again.

Their departure also brings back memories of 2001, when lead guitarist Joe left the band after two decades of performing with Wings.

With this latest change, the current Wings lineup now consists of Awie, Syam, and Edrie. Fans have expressed sadness and concern over the band’s future direction, fearing this marks the end of an era for one of Malaysia’s most iconic rock groups.
