The singer of the popular song Bey Soba Bey, Eda Ezrin, is resigned to celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri in Narathiwat Prison, Thailand.
Even though she’s been cleared of charges for possessing 6,059 ecstasy pills, Eda, whose real name is Wan Norshaheeda Azlin Wan Ismail, 30, still isn’t allowed to return to Malaysia.
According to a Kosmo! report, the deadline for the prosecution to file an appeal hasn’t ended yet.
“The deadline for them to file an appeal ends early next month. I really hope the prosecution doesn’t submit that appeal.
Anyway, I feel so grateful after the Narathiwat Provincial Court here freed me, my husband, and four other friends from the drug charges.
Please send my greetings to everyone, including my fans, God willing, after getting out of here (prison), I’ll continue my career as a singer,” she expressed from behind the iron bars.
On March 6, Eda, along with her husband, Mohd Affendi Ahmad, 35, and their four friends — Mohamad Alif Deraman, Nur Aida Mamat, Erdeka Mohd Noor, and Zuhaira Nasrin were released after the court was satisfied with all the witness statements.
Previously, Eda and her five friends were arrested on November 1, 2023, with 6,000 ecstasy pills during a raid at a hotel in Sungai Golok. They were believed to have just returned from an entertainment spot before being caught.
On November 4, their bail request was rejected by the Narathiwat Provincial Court due to concerns they might flee. – BOOM!
