The GenKRU concert, held for four consecutive nights at Axiata Arena recently, not only sparked a phenomenon in the local entertainment industry but also made history when KRU received recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR).
However, according to KRU member, Dato’ Norman Abdul Halim, that success shouldn’t be judged solely from a financial perspective.

“We really don’t want GenKRU’s success to be seen from a financial angle.
Actually, our intention was just to do one night, but the overwhelming response made it ‘multiply’ into four nights,” he told BOOM!.
Norman added that organizing the concert stemmed from passion and love for the arts, not merely chasing profits.
“We did it because of passion. We wanted to give the best to our fans,” he said.
Despite this, speculations arose claiming the concert generated profits reaching millions of ringgit, sparking debates on social media.

However, according to Norman, those figures are inaccurate and largely came from unofficial calculations by outsiders.
“Actually, the maximum capacity we sold was only 9,000 tickets per night, even though Axiata Arena can hold 15,000 attendees.
The ‘millions’ figure didn’t come from us,” he said, explaining that profit management and speculations were handled by the organizer, ICON Entertainment.
Even so, Norman didn’t deny that KRU’s popularity has soared thanks to media and netizen attention.
Meanwhile, Norman, who is also the President of KRU Studios, was met after the launch of the Wetland Studios Putrajaya Anniversary Fiesta, marking two years since its establishment on May 26, 2023. The theme park has been fully managed by KRU Studios since 2023.
The launch ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Datuk Azman Abidin, Political Secretary to YAB Prime Minister of Malaysia, alongside distinguished guests such as Dato’ Fadlun Mak Ujud (President of Perbadanan Putrajaya), ACP Aidi Sham Mohamad (Putrajaya Police Chief), En Junady Nawawi (CEO of TERAJU), and Pn Wan Zawiyah Wan Abu Bakar (Senior General Manager of PTPTN).

Located within Putrajaya’s Wetland Park, the largest man-made wetland in the tropical region recognized by UNESCO, Wetland Studios offers an edutainment concept through a blend of animatronics technology, virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI).
With over 350,000 visitors recorded in two years, Wetland Studios has become an increasingly popular family tourism destination.
The Wetland Studios Putrajaya Anniversary Fiesta, running from May 29 to June 9, 2025, will feature various exciting activities such as performances by Zan Orangutan & KiKaKo Kids mascots, “Mixed Reality” games with Holobox technology, AI photography, and a Creative Arts Competition in collaboration with PTPTN. – BOOM!
