Actress Raja Azura expressed relief after the Shah Alam Syariah Lower Court allowed her application to enforce a judgment related to maintenance filed against her former husband, Adzmin Osman.

The decision was made by Syariah Judge Tuan Salehan Yatim after he was satisfied with the explanations and evidence presented by the actress and television host during the morning proceedings.
Her Syariah lawyer, Mohammad Amirul Hanizan, said the application involved enforcing a 2010 court order concerning child maintenance and iddah maintenance, which has yet to be complied with by the respondent.

According to him, after reviewing his client’s evidence, the court granted permission to initiate enforcement of the maintenance claims against the respondent.
“Once we have the court’s approval, we will file a summons to call the respondent to court and inform the judge of his ability to settle the arrears and explain why he failed to fulfil his obligations.
No meetings have been held between both parties yet, but we will make every effort to locate the respondent. Once he is brought to court, it will be easier for my client to pursue the maintenance claim,” he told Utusan Online.

At the same time, Judge Salehan explained that the outstanding maintenance arrears, estimated at nearly RM1 million, must be settled according to a payment method agreed upon and considered by the court.
“There are methods the respondent can use to settle the arrears, but it depends on discussion and the court’s consideration,” he added. -BOOM!
