The romantic relationship between Fifty Shades of Grey actress, Dakota Johnson and Coldplay vocalist, Chris Martin has finally ended after eight years of an on-off relationship, according to a source from People.
“This time it seems truly over,” said one source.
The couple was last seen together on May 16 in Malibu, just weeks before news of their split surfaced.
In January, they were also spotted holding hands while in India, during Coldplay’s tour.
Dakota and Chris were first romantically linked in 2017, and since then, their relationship has often been in the spotlight, including engagement rumors that emerged in 2020.
However, according to the source, they were indeed engaged at one point but were in no rush to tie the knot.
In August 2024, breakup rumors surfaced, but Dakota’s representative denied them, stating they were still “happily together.”
“They’ve had issues and split before, but everything was fine then.
They love their careers and tried to balance everything,” the source said at the time.
Interestingly, in June 2024, another source claimed the couple had “gotten back together again.”
