Heavy metal music legend, Ozzy Osbourne passed away at the age of 76 this morning, just weeks after making a comeback at a Black Sabbath tribute concert in Birmingham, England.
The sad news was confirmed by his family through a post on Instagram, stating that Osbourne’s passing occurred peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.

The cause of death has not been disclosed, but Osbourne had long faced various health issues, including Parkinson’s disease and spinal surgery in 2022 following a fall in 2019.
Osbourne announced his retirement from the stage just 17 days before his passing.
On July 5, he made a special appearance at the ‘Back to the Beginning’ concert with original Black Sabbath members, held for the first time since 2005.
Despite appearing in a wheelchair, his performance left a huge impact on fans.

Known as the ‘Prince of Darkness,’ Osbourne was recognized as one of the pioneers of heavy metal music with Black Sabbath since 1968, sparking a massive wave in the British rock scene during the 1970s.
Beyond his musical talent, Osbourne was also famous for his extreme onstage antics.
The most memorable incident occurred in 1982 when he bit the head off a bat, which he thought was a stage prop, leading him to receive rabies shots as a precaution.
In an interview with The Guardian in May 2025, Osbourne admitted the difficulties of living with his declining health and prolonged depression.
“Every morning I wake up with a new problem.
It feels like it never ends,” he said at the time.
His passing is mourned by fans and fellow musicians worldwide, leaving behind a legacy that is hard to match in the world of heavy metal music. – BOOM!
