Australian political activist and influencer Drew Pavlou launched a fundraising campaign to move into Billie Eilish’s mansion in Los Angeles following the singer’s politically charged remarks at the recent Grammy Awards.

He criticised what he described as Billie’s act of “virtue signaling” following her anti-ICE statement after winning the Song of the Year award at the 68th annual ceremony.
“I will be flying to the United States next Friday to try to move into Billie Eilish’s beachfront mansion in Malibu.
“No human being is illegal on stolen land. Support my travel and filming costs here,” he wrote on X.

Pavlou shared that the platform later removed the original fundraiser after it had collected US$3,000 (RM12,000) for the trip.
He then changed tactics and raised funds on a new site, GiveSendGo, seeking US$2,840 (RM11,000) so he could fly to California and purchase the Malibu home valued at US$6 million (RM24 million), allegedly owned by the Birds of a Feather singer.

However, the property is actually owned by Eilish’s brother, Finneas O’Connell, and it was sold in 2022 before being destroyed in the Palisades fire.

In her speech at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 1, Billie said that no one is illegal on stolen land.
“While I feel grateful, honestly I feel like I don’t need to say anything, but no one is illegal on stolen land,” she was quoted as saying by the New York Post.
Pavlou is among thousands of individuals who criticised Eilish over what they described as a divisive statement.
“This is an extremely radical view. Essentially, she is arguing that the United States should be abolished because it is an illegitimate country due to the sins of colonisation.
“It was astonishing to see the entire audience at the Grammy Awards rise and give a standing ovation in agreement,” he said. – BOOM!
