Comedian and restaurant owner Ajak Shiro has addressed the issue surrounding the price of sambal udang petai at his eatery, Bumbu Babah, after a customer criticized it online.

Ajak explained that the price is reasonable, as the dish not only features prawns as the main ingredient but also includes petai (stink beans), which are currently expensive.
“For the sambal udang, it comes with petai, and we all know it’s quite pricey now. If you say it’s expensive, our nasi padang starts from just RM5. It’s not really possible to reduce it further,” he told MStar.
He also jokingly added that customers registered as Bumbu Babah members can enjoy lower prices.

Earlier, a customer dining at the restaurant questioned the RM9.90 price for the sambal udang dish, which contained four prawns.
The individual also uploaded a photo of the receipt and the dish on social media.

Ajak emphasized that he values every piece of feedback from customers, as it helps strengthen the relationship with them and improve the restaurant’s service quality. —Boom!
