Legendary Japanese actor, Naoto Takenaka is set to return to the K-drama world after 15 years, joining the cast of the popular drama’s third season, ‘Taxi Driver 3’, according to SPOTV News on April 7.
This drama, adapted from a well-known webtoon, tells the story of a mysterious taxi company, Rainbow Transport, and its driver Kim Do Gi (played by Lee Je Hoon) who takes revenge on behalf of victims who’ve been wronged.
With a storyline packed with action and emotional satisfaction, ‘Taxi Driver‘ has become a favorite not just in Korea, but also worldwide.
This highly anticipated third season is slated to air in the second half of 2025, featuring the return of all the main actors like Kim Eui Sung, Pyo Ye Jin, Jang Hyuk Jin, and Bae Yoo Ram alongside Lee Je Hoon.
Adding to fans’ excitement, the appearance of Naoto Takenaka, a renowned Japanese actor who once stole the spotlight with his quirky role as Franz von Stresemann in ‘Nodame Cantabile’, is expected to bring a fresh vibe to the drama.
Among his famous works are Shall We Dance, Waterboys, Drops of God, and The Solitary Gourmet.
The last time he appeared in a Korean drama was in ‘The Fugitive: Plan B’ starring Rain back in 2010.
