Sissy Imann, 30, has made personal history after being chosen as the host for the 39th Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL39), despite facing criticism from some quarters. The singer and emcee considers this opportunity a blessing from Allah and asks for fans’ support to give her best.
“I understand there will be mixed reactions. Kun fayakun, when Allah says it will happen, it will. Allah has willed it, and this is all happening because of the prayers of my parents and supporters. For me, this is a golden opportunity, okay? Pray for me, insya-Allah,” she said via Instagram.

Sissy expressed her gratitude as her dream of hosting AJL has now come true. Previously, she hosted Muzik-Muzik 36 and was the red carpet host for the event.
“Deep down, I’ve always dreamed of hosting AJL, but I only got to host the red carpet. Even then, I was happy. Turns out, Allah planned it for AJL39. When I was told, I couldn’t believe it, but this didn’t come easy. I am the host TV3 chose,” she shared.

On February 16, Sissy will co-host the event with Naz Rahman at the Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil. AJL39 will feature 10 of the best songs, including:
