US President Donald Trump will be ‘skipping’ this year’s Super Bowl annual event because he is worried about being jeered by the crowd, said Seth Meyers on the Late Night show.

Although he attended Super Bowl 2025 in New Orleans last year, Trump confirmed that he will not attend Super Bowl LX, which will feature a matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, because the NFL’s chosen venue, Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco, is ‘too far away.’
However, Late Night host Seth Meyers was not convinced by that reason and suspected there must be another reason why Trump chose not to attend.
“Given that Trump is known to love football and craves attention, many expected him to attend this Sunday’s Super Bowl, especially since he attended last year’s Super Bowl,” he said in the show’s opening monologue.

After Meyers repeated Trump’s reasoning to the studio audience, the host sarcastically questioned the president’s answer.
“It’s too far away? You know you have your own plane, right?
“Trump’s excuse makes no sense
“This is the same guy who has made several trips to the Middle East and Asia, but San Francisco is too far away?
“Or is it because they won’t give you a silly gift for making the trip? Because we know you love silly gifts,” he said.

Meyers also showed a clip in which Trump was jeered by the crowd at an NFL game in Maryland last November, which further supported his theory that the president might be worried about facing more criticism if he attended the major game.

Meyers further stressed that Trump’s standing is at its lowest point since returning to office in January, and this may be a factor behind his reluctance to appear in public places such as major sporting events.
Nevertheless, Trump claimed yesterday that his approval rating is the highest poll number he has ever received. – BOOM!
