Malaysian Pop Rock group Insomniacks has, for the first time, been crowned the Highest Streamed Domestic Artist for the year 2025.

Bassist Wan Arif Iskandar Adnan expressed his gratitude, noting that the group had never previously reached the top spot on any music charts.
“This is the first time we’ve hit number one. Previously, we were usually in the top three or top five.
“So, yes, this is truly our first time at number one. We just found out, so it’s quite a shock. We are grateful and happy. Our goal is to continue growing every year, and this achievement is truly amazing,” he said.

Another member of Insomniacks, vokalis, Danial Lee Hashim, shared that they are currently focusing on long-term planning and new projects for the year. He also expressed his appreciation that the group’s songs have become fan favorites.
“Alhamdulillah. People like our songs. So far, our work doesn’t usually ‘explode’ instantly; instead, it grows slowly.
“I believe that five years from now, people will still be listening to our music. The songs we produce need to be heard a few times, and only then do people start to love them,” he said, as quoted by Gempak.

Iskandar added that the songs they produce remain relevant even five years after their release.

He explained that the lyrical content is created to have meaning that listeners can relate to in their own lives.
“Our songs become bigger when people listen to them and create their own stories. When they go through life experiences, they can relate back to those songs. From there, the music becomes more meaningful and impactful.
“We are friends with our fans; we talk like friends. We don’t post [on social media] excessively. We prefer chatting in Telegram and interacting a lot with fans during performances,” he added. – BOOM!
