Renowned singer Ellie Goulding revealed the darker side behind her early success, admitting that she once suffered panic attacks so severe that she was unable to leave her home.

Ellie, 39, who is currently pregnant and expecting her second child with boyfriend Beau Minniear, said the drastic transition from an unknown songwriter to an international star happened too quickly for her body and emotions to process.
Her debut album in 2010 topped the UK Albums Chart, instantly catapulting her into the spotlight. However, the success came with overwhelming pressure.
“I went from never flying on planes and never being photographed, to singing at a royal wedding,” she said in an interview.

Ellie admitted her body struggled to cope with the workload, constant attention, and relentless schedule.
“My body didn’t know how to process the difference between my old life and my new one. Everything happened within just a few months,” she shared.

The pressure intensified as Ellie continued touring alongside major artists such as Katy Perry and Bruno Mars.
“I started having panic attacks to the point where I couldn’t leave the house. I would cover my face when I was in the car,” she was quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
Now, 2026 marks a new chapter for Ellie as she has been recognised for her contributions to biodiversity and climate action, is awaiting the birth of her child, has been awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), and is set to release her sixth studio album. – BOOM!
