Actress and television host Elly Mazlein, 45, revealed that she was once offered a lucrative deal worth nearly half a million ringgit, but with a condition attached.

She said the main condition of the contract was that she had to remove her hijab.
“I received the offer when I had just started wearing the hijab. It was indeed a lucrative amount, almost RM500,000, but the condition was that I had to take off my hijab,” she said.

However, Elly stood firm in her decision to remain hijab-wearing and rejected the offer.
“When I decided to wear the hijab, no matter how much I’m paid, I will stick to my decision.
“They knew I was already wearing the hijab, that’s why they offered such a high amount. But I told them I couldn’t work with them if I had to remove my hijab.
“If they want me as a brand ambassador, my principle is to remain wearing the hijab. I believe there will be other رزki (sustenance) for me elsewhere,” she said.

Elly also shared that she declined the offer in a respectful manner, and the party involved accepted her decision.
She further advised companies not to underestimate the capability of hijab-wearing women as brand ambassadors.

Elly stressed that there is nothing wrong with choosing a hijab-wearing ambassador and believes that her sustenance simply does not lie with that company.
She also reaffirmed her principle of continuing to wear the hijab.
“What matters most now is that I remain true to my principle of wearing the hijab,” she said. – BOOM!
