KRU revealed that the song selection for their GenKRU The Finale: One More Time concert was arranged based on fan feedback, proving that the group values their audience’s opinions and did not make the decisions unilaterally.

According to Datuk Yusry Abdul Halim, they conducted a special survey before finalising the songs to be performed.
“These song choices aren’t self-indulgent. We conducted a survey with fans, and they listed their favourite tracks. From that list, we created a shortlist,” he explained.

However, Datuk Norman Abdul Halim shared that many requested songs could not be included as they might make new or casual listeners feel confused.
“There were some odd requests. We were worried that those who aren’t very familiar with KRU might end up feeling lost,” he said.

Norman also stressed the importance of introducing new works to concertgoers. He said songs such as One More Time, Remaja Selamanya, and Voodoo needed to be performed to ensure KRU remains relevant.
“If we don’t introduce new songs, people will only hear the old ones. It’s our responsibility to keep creating,” he added.

At the same time, Norman also shared a personal challenge, his father was hospitalised and in critical condition during the concert preparations. Although his father has shown slight improvement, his health has not yet allowed him to attend the performance. —Boom!
