Brunei Prince, Pengiran Muda Abdul Mateen, and his wife, Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Anisha Rosnah Adam, safely welcomed their first child on 8 February.

According to a statement quoted from Media Permata, Princess Anisha was reported to have safely given birth to a princess at 8.50 a.m.
The joyful news was officially announced by the Palace Office and was received with full ceremonial honours by the royal family and the people of Brunei.

The firing of 17 cannon salutes within the grounds of Istana Nurul Iman symbolised gratitude and celebration for the historic moment.
“The Office of His Majesty Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam hereby announces that Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Anisha Rosnah Adam, wife of His Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Abdul Mateen ibni His Majesty Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddin Waddaulah, by the will of Allah SWT, safely delivered a Princess on Sunday, 20 Syaaban 1447, corresponding to 8 February 2026.
“With this birth, 17 cannon salutes were fired at the grounds of Istana Nurul Iman,” said the statement quoted from Media Permata.

Prince Mateen and Princess Anisha were married on 11 January last year.
Prince Mateen had previously shared the news of the pregnancy of their first child in October, sparking congratulatory messages from the people of Brunei and royal admirers. – BOOM!
